Title
IRC - Gender in Community Water Supply,
Sanitation and Water Resource Protection: a guide to methods and techniques
Abstract
This monograph covers the main activities and decisions in rural water supply, sanitation and
water resource protection projects which, according to the experiences collected in the IRC
International Water and Sanitation Centre, require a gender-specific approach in the planning,
implementation and documentation of the projects. The insights summarized in this document
were inputs to three Regional Expert Consultations on Methods to Involve Women in Rural
Water Supply, Sanitation and Water Resource Protection Projects. Another input was the
knowledge and experiences of the participants, who deal with community participation and
involvement of women in this kind of project.
